International Journal for Neighbourhood Renewal

The International Journal of Neighbourhood Renewal

Call for Papers 30th January 2008

Volume One Issue One (September 2008)

The International Journal for Neighbourhood Renewal is a recently established Journal aimed at supporting the development of high quality research and analysis in the field of neighbourhood renewal.  In most developed economies, the effective renewal of local neighbourhoods has become a key feature of the public policy strategies of city, regional, federal and national governments and agencies.  However, examples from around the world indicate that many neighbourhood renewal strategies despite being well meant, have failed to deliver effective neighbourhood renewal because of a lack of understanding of the societal effects have led to the long term decline of neighbourhoods.

This new Journal aims to contribute to the development of effective neighbourhood renewal strategies by giving an opportunity for innovative examples of research and implementation in the field to be published in collective journal form.

Volume One Edition One of the Journal is to be published in September 2008 and a ‘Call for Papers’ is now being made.  Papers for the Journal may be submitted for any subject that concerns the development of effective neighbourhood renewal strategies.  Papers can be submitted for individuals or organisations in the fields of academia, research, policy analysis, programme implementation and evaluation.

Papers are welcome from Universities, Voluntary Organisations, Community Groups, Regeneration Agencies, Consultants and Government Departments.

The creators of the Journal are particularly keen to support articles from students involved in the field of neighbourhood renewal and also voluntary organisations involved in neighbourhood renewal implementation.

If you are interested in submitting an article for inclusion in the first Edition of the Journal then please click here to complete an online submission form.  Alternatively, email Ray Holden at the Offices of the Journal at ray@ijnr.co.uk or call Ray on +44 (0) 7974 222 832

The International Journal for Neighbourhood Renewal is a truly international venture which has a wide-scale International Board and will be distributed worldwide.
